WHAT IS MPSC?

KaSMED, Correspondence Seminar in Medicine, is a new project of high school and university students under the civic association mMEDCON, aimed at bringing the field of medicine closer to high school students in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. KaSMED consists of sets of tasks on various topics in the form of "case studies". High school students would receive the necessary materials, such as a description of the patient's medical history, symptoms, results of vital function measurements, and the like. Their task is to come up with a hypothesis for a possible diagnosis, create a short-term or long-term treatment plan, consider the risks, or answer other questions related to the diagnosis. The correspondence seminar can be conducted in Slovak and English.

This year's KaSMED topics are neurology, dermatology, endocrinology, nephrology, and orthopedics. The first round will be published on November 1, 2023.
